Hoops, Salsa & Open Mics 10/3

9:00 AM / Comments (0) / by BayScope

It just hit me that we have officially entered October. The summer is officially gone and Halloween is right around the corner. You can also bid farewell to the semi-decent weather we've been having lately too. Rain is in the forecast so start looking for things to do indoors. Here are a few ideas.

Hoop Dance Class
Rhythmix Cultural Works
2513 Blanding Ave, Alameda
6:30 - 7:30pm

Hoop dance is a full-body workout that tones not only your waist, but hips, thighs and arms as the hoop moves up, down and off your torso. This new, low-impact exercise uses large, heavy, adult hoops rather than small, light-weight hula-hoops of the past.

Hooping strengthens your core (stomach/abdominal muscles),
tones your arms and thighs,
improves posture and balance,
is good for your bones and
lifts your spirit through laughter and fun!

Learn to Salsa Dance
The Works Cooperative, Inc., Berkeley
7- 11pm

Rebecca Miller teaches this fun and social Learn to Dance Salsa class to get you out on the dance floor!
Beginners 7:30  - Intermediate 8:30  - Advanced 9:30

Now is the time to learn to dance! Rebecca's easy to follow lessons will have you out dancing in no time. No experience or partner necessary!

SF Live!
50 Mason Social House
50 Mason St., San Francisco
9:30 - 11:30pm

"SF Live!" is a free music and comedy show every Monday night at 9:30 PM at 50 Mason Social House (50 Mason St).  There are new performers every week and the bar serves a unique selection of local beer and wines.
